Bio

Andrea Nuñez specializes in photography of events and fine artwork for museums, private collectors, and artists.

 

Andrea has been a photographer specializing in the photography of events and fine artwork for over fifteen years. She has been a photographer in numerous museum settings including The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, Yale University Art Gallery, University of Pennsylvania Libraries, Artex Fine Art Services, and The Maryland Historical Society.

 

She has photographed many different types of art objects including paintings, sculpture, archeological, ethnographic, drawings, photography, and costume and textiles. The photography has been used in publications, advertising, websites and museum internal databases. Examples of publications that Andrea has contributed to are Mexico and Modern Printmaking "A Revolution in the Graphic Arts 1920 to 1950", James Castle "A Retrospective" and Marcel Duchamp "Etant Donnes".

 

In addition to photographing fine artwork, Andrea has photographed art exhibitions and art on location. Some of the exhibitions she has photographed have been William Kentridge "Tapestries", Henri Matisse and Modern Art on the French Riviera, and Ike Tiaga and Tokuyama Gyokuran "Japanese Masters of the Brush."

 

Photographing events at cultural institutions is something Andrea is very familiar with. She most recently photographed events and tours at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Barnes Foundation and The Rodin Museum. When photographing events, she keeps in mind the concerns associated with photographing around artwork, while always striving to achieve the best possible photography for the client.

 

Andrea holds a Masters in Museum Studies degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She currently resides in Philadelphia.
